Top-Down Approach of Problem Solving :-

English Definition: The Top-Down Approach is a problem-solving technique in which a large and complex problem is divided into smaller sub-problems. Each sub-problem is solved step by step to obtain the complete solution.

 Steps of Top-Down Problem Solving :-

  5. Combine the Solutions: सभी छोटे Tasks के Solutions को Combine करना।

  6. Test the Final Solution:

 Problem Decomposition (प्रॉब्लम डीकम्पोजिशन) :-

English Definition: Problem Decomposition is the process of breaking a large problem into smaller and manageable sub-problems to make it easier to understand and solve.

Decomposition:

  • Step 3: Percentage Calculate करना।

  • Step 4: Result Display करना।

Advantages of Problem Decomposition:

  1. Complex Problem

 Example of Top-Down Approach :-

Step 1: Main Problem

Step 2: Divide into Sub-Problems

  2. Total Marks Calculate करना।

  3. Percentage Calculate करना।

  4. Total और Percentage Display करना।

Step 3: Python Program

def input_marks():
    hindi = int(input("Enter Hindi marks: "))
    english = int(input("Enter English marks: "))
    computer = int(input("Enter Computer marks: "))
    return hindi, english, computer

def calculate_total(hindi, english, computer):
    return hindi + english + computer

def calculate_percentage(total):
    return total / 300 * 100

def display_result(total, percentage):
    print("Total Marks:", total)
    print("Percentage:", percentage, "%")

def main():
    hindi, english, computer = input_marks()
    total = calculate_total(hindi, english, computer)
    percentage = calculate_percentage(total)
    display_result(total, percentage)

main()

Output:

Enter Hindi marks: 80
Enter English marks: 70
Enter Computer marks: 90
Total Marks: 240
Percentage: 80.0 %

Explanation:

  3. calculate_percentage() — Percentage Calculate करता है।
